What is Mandalay Coaching?

The coaches at Mandalay Coaching believe in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. For individuals who have never experienced coaching and are interested, Mandalay Coaching offers a free sample session for you to try for yourself.

Kirstin, the lead coach combines her background in Human Resources and her experience working in fast moving environments Kirstin is best placed to work with self motivated individuals. Kirstin has a warm, open and natural coaching style. Leaving behind the theory, she concentrates on a practical down to earth approach to help executives move to the next level and be the best they can. Kirstin is the coach who will cut through the confusion and get to the core of the issue. Kirstin has worked with a number of ‘fast paced’ executives over the years who don’t always have time to stop and has demonstrated how coaching can support them. Examples include those executives who are new into their role, those who need support through change and those who are new to having an international remit.

Some examples from previous clients:
"Ifound the coaching sessions invaluable. Having someone focus on only me, helping guide me and clarify my thoughts into an action plan was fantastic. Kirstin is a natural coach who uses some excellent techniques - before I knew it I had a clear head and things mapped out!"

"I was struggling to let my personality show at work when I was quickly promoted through the ranks. Kirstin helped me to see how I could still be my own person and define the role for myself."

What is Coaching?

‘Coaching’ is defined as a working relationship between a coach and a client aimed at establishing and achieving goals. These goals can be focused on targeting high performance at work and/or influencing your private life. Unlike a counsellor or mentor, a coach rarely offers advice. Instead the coach examines the issue with the client through exploration, asking questions, providing feedback and setting follow-up work for future sessions. Working with a coach you will define your goals, your values and what makes you ‘tick’. Armed with this information, the coach will work with you to define these goals linking these to your values to develop a strategy to move you forward.

A coaching relationship varies. It depends how you and your coach want to work and what goals you want to achieve. The coaching sessions are usually up to 45 minutes twice a month, or can be tailored to your specific needs. Your coaching programme is something you will discuss with your coach during your ‘Discovery Session.'

What is a Discovery Session?

A ‘Discovery Session’ is the first session you will have with your coach. During which you will get to know each other better, establish how you want to work and define the goals you want to achieve during the coaching relationship. You will be asked to complete a questionnaire in advance of the session to help support this process.

During your discovery session you will put together a coaching strategy/plan. The two of you will decide how regular your coaching sessions will be and whether these are face-to-face or on the phone.
